It can still work if you're using RadioBoss, Nextkast or SAM Broadcaster. RadioBoss Cloud works with Live365 and it's browser based (you don't need to stream from computer). See updates in comments below for latest status. For Live365 browsers, CONTACT LIVE365 and let them know you would like relay scheduling for browsers. Their engineering is considering the addRadioGuild RELAY is here! It's in beta stage right now but we've been testing it at all angles. We've been getting a lot of requests throughout the years from Live365 broadcasters in creating something where they don't have to manually upload and schedule their news each and everyday. This also works for AutoDJ users that are using the web browser platform to schedule their programming. In a nutshell, if you're manually scheduling your newscast files throughout the day on Live365's website, we've created a relay program that will allow you to schedule relays for top of the hour news. You would just need to schedule it one time and after that, we maintain it from there.Next week we'll be putting out the full details with instructions on implementing RadioGuild Relay in your scheduling system. With this, we need feedback on how it's working for you, if there's any issues you're having, etc.WE'RE NO LONGER TAKING BETA TESTERS (see updates below)To get more details and information check out our earlier article... Read more

How to start a discussion

https://radioguild.org/view-discussion/how-to-start-a-discussion

https://radioguild.org/view-discussion/how-to-start-a-discussion

If you want to start a discussion in a particular group (like podcasters); simply click "discussions" in the menu. On desktop computers, click the "+" next to your profile name (top-right), then select 'discussions'.

This is for Live365 users that have to manually schedule their news files each day. We've been in direct communication with Live365 engineers in an attempt to resolve the issue to schedule news via relay and/or static links. Our hope is to implement 'Static Link' scheduling for Live365 browser users. If that can't be done, we want to continue moving forward with the relay scheduler.Once again, communication is at a standstill with Live365 and nothing seems to be moving forward. This has happened before where they sound very interested then communication stops. For Live365 Users that are still manually scheduling their news files each day, please use this Live365 Link and tell them you want static link or relay scheduling.IN THE MEANTIME, THERE IS A QUICK FIX:If you're a Live365 user or AutoDJ user that is tired of manually scheduling your news files for each hour of the day, there is something you can do now that will allow you to schedule 'static links' (instead of mp3 files). This way, you only have to schedule the news files once, then we will automatically update them each day. So you never have to schedule manually again. All you need to do is order Radio Boss Cloud https://radioboss.fm . We are not affiliated with them and don't make any money from sales. They have a cloud plan as low as $6 if you have 30 concurrent listeners or less. One of the most frequently asked questions about streaming radio stations is "How Do I Make Money." Many replies is "you can't."
Well, that's not true. You can make money at anything if you focus and constantly look for ways to turn your station into a money maker. As much as you focus on your programming and scheduling, you should be spending that same amount of time in promotions and marketing.
Most people, that claim you cannot make money with streaming radio stations, do not put much time in marketing their station.
Many times you have to be creative with the way you make money. That's where many station owners fall short!
It's time to consider crowdfunding! It's a great way to keep in touch with your listeners, family and friends for support without sounding desperate.
There are some great crowdfunding sources out there that you're probably not aware of. More than likely you know about Kickerstarter.com and that's a great start. However that's becoming too "crowded" and known for asking for money.
There are other platforms that are becoming niche for industries like yours. They also don't have a reputation for "begging for money."
Here are some platforms that are recommended and can work for your station:
BuyMeACoffee.com
Patreon.com
Ko-Fi.com
Kickstarter.com (for launching station)
Pitchground.com
GigNewton.com (for selling ad packages)
Indiegogo.com

There's no reason why you would have to use just one. You can promote your station using a variety of platforms to not only see which one works for you but to get your brand out there.
This is just another example that you need to be creative with your marketing and promotions. There are other ways to push your brand and start making money with your radio station, podcast or show.... Read more

Radio Stations Looking For Podcast Content

https://radioguild.org/view-discussion/radio-stations-looking-for-podcast-content

https://radioguild.org/view-discussion/radio-stations-looking-for-podcast-content

Content is king and so is distribution. The Radio Guild has put together a platform that takes care of both. There are a lot of radio stations that are looking for content for their program schedule. This is great opportunity for podcasters to increase their distribution.

However, many face a significant hurdle: gaining access to press conferences, news events, and breaking news scenes without recognized press credentials. This barrier not only limits their ability to report timely and accurate news but also diminishes their credibility in the eyes of event organizers and officials. For these independent professionals, creating self-made press credentials has been a common workaround. Yet, these homemade passes often fail to meet industry standards and are frequently dismissed as unofficial or illegitimate. Recognizing this critical need, Media Guild has stepped in to offer a robust solution that bridges the gap between independent content creators and the traditional press world.Verified Digital Press Passes for Independent MediaMedia Guild acts as a trusted third-party organization, providing verified digital press passes to independent media professionals. These credentials certify that the holder is an active member of the press and has been vetted by a reputable entity. The verification process ensures that only genuine media professionals gain access to events, enhancing their credibility and professionalism. The digital nature of the press pass makes it highly convenient and secure. It can be presented and verified on the spot, giving event organizers confidence in the authenticity of the credential. This real-time verification capability is a game-changer for independent journalists who often face skepticism when presenting unverified credentials. Why Proper Press Credentials MatterHaving proper press credentials is essential for gaining access to restricted areas and events. These passes not only open doors but also serve as a mark of legitimacy in the eyes of officials, security personnel, and other members of the press. Less than 5% of the company's overall employment, or roughly 250 people, are affected, and they are dispersed throughout all divisions and markets. However, its broadcast radio division will see the most of the losses, not its podcasting division.
In light of the current macroeconomic headwinds, Audacy has been proactive in taking measures to mitigate against the impact of any downturn, according to a statement from a spokesperson for the company. "We remain committed to this exciting transformation, which has made us a much stronger organization," the spokesperson added. "These include budget evaluations, reducing expenses, and also reducing our workforce.."
The layoffs occur only a few weeks after David Field, the CEO of Audacy, informed analysts that the company planned to weather the economic storm by reaping "significant" savings through "meaningful" cost reductions.
During the company's second quarter results call, Field stated, "We are aiming to implement substantial sustainable savings through a number of measures to increase margins and profitability across the business." "We believe we can produce significant cost savings without compromising our strategic aims or growth strategies."
Audacy's CFO Rich Schmaeling stated on that conference that the company is working on a program "to dramatically decrease our expenses" and that more information regarding the breadth and degree of those efforts would be provided on its third quarter call.
These are Audacy's first layoffs following two waves of reductions in personnel in 2020, which were brought on by the COVID-19 epidemic. The Philadelphia Business Journal reports that following these reductions, no other layoffs are anticipated for the rest of the year.
According to management, podcasting expe... Read more
