Loudness normalization (LUFS) is a process that targets the overall loudness of an audio signal. It measures and normalizes the signal to a specific level, expressed in terms of Loudness Units relative to Full Scale (LUFS). The goal is to match the loudness of different audio pieces to a standard reference level, usually -23 LUFS for loudness normalization. This ensures that the audio level feels consistent, whether it's a podcast, a music track, or an audiobook.

When it comes to final delivery, consider this: dynamic range compression prepares the audio for mastering, while loudness normalization fine-tunes the audio to meet industry standards for delivery.
